  • Greetings and provincial update from president of the Alberta Teachers' Association.

7:15–8:15 pm –Brian Dawydiuk
    This session will focus on reframing how substitute teaching is valued in how we frame the role in our communication. It will be a mix of storytelling, stand up comedy and some strategies that you'll be able to bring to class on your next assignment. I will share stories of my experience as a substitute, as a teacher in England and as a contracted teacher while mixing in some stand up comedy. The goal is to eliminate the phrase "just a substitute" and acknowledge and appreciate the vital role that substitute teachers have in our education system.
