About me
Marissa has been a middle years teacher for the last seventeen years with the Calgary Board of Education. She specializes in French Immersion Humanities and has taught many subjects as well as grades in the middle years. She is passionate about language learning and cross curricular assignments. Currently she is one of the Calgary area representatives for the Middle Years Council of the ATA as well as one of their professional development coordinators. Marissa has finished her Masters of Education at the U of C with specializations in Leadership, The Calls to Action and French Immersion Pedagogies. Her research paper was about incorporating translanguaging pedagogies into French Immersion. When she is not working she can be found enjoying nature with her husband, daughter and dog.
